The Quiet Part Now Has a Bullhorn
For generations within the US, racism has been a covert, whispered way of life. Within the past decade, those quiet parts fermented in the hearts and minds of a [formerly silent] minority have become the echoed center stage of existence. When racists were regifted their first tag line of "America First" alongside a new moniker, "Make America Great, Again", they became impossibly emboldened.
Along with the newly adapted loudness of their sentiments comes an odd desire to compete in the [newly formed] oppression Olympics. This trend of oppression appears to be in [direct] opposition to members of the BIPOC community no longer "going along to get along". As we strive to hold individuals accountable and ensure that there are consequences to their anti-humanity actions, to them, it feels like oppression and disrespect.
The MOST privileged individuals of this nation (cis-gendered, straight, [pseudo] Christian white men) boldly proclaim that they are now the most oppressed and receive the least amount of opportunity. Isn't it AMAZING how once they are no longer permitted the freedom to disparage, hunt, discriminate against, or denigrate marginalized communities...they believe that their opportunities have dwindled?
What is comical is that the descendants of those that proclaimed race and placed their's atop the hierarchy are terrified to compete and exist on an equitable playing field.
White women have returned to their past time of weaponizing their tears to police the existence of BIPOC community members. They are also working triple time to remind the country that they are the default damsels in distress and require constant saving from the scary savagery of those that are not unseasoned. White children (mostly male) are turning schools, churches and markets into Wild West reboots.
YET, BIPOC individuals are STILL placed in the shroud of violent, dangerous and sub par while white people SIMULTANEOUSLY [now] claim that they are oppressed and the [new] second class citizens.
Yes, I am well aware that racism grows within a field of sheer and utter ignorance. This is why they contradict themselves within their own arguments. and "hot takes" regarding life within the United States. They are miserable now that their bubbles of privilege are being burst and accountability is finally making its rounds. Therefore, in response, they have dusted off the bullhorns of their parents and grandfathers and have begun to screech the unspoken/hidden truths regarding their beliefs and fears.
I say, match the energy and the volume...just scream the truth/facts/unwhitewashed history.
