They Lie to You Because You CHOOSE Lies Over Truth
Before you decide to tussle with me due to the title...hear me out. Think for just a moment. When was the last time that you questioned lies/gossip said to you regarding someone you do not lie or know? You DON'T. You only want questions asked when the lies are targeted at you. The lies conveyed to you RARELY make logical sense, but you ignore that and ride the wave right over to the "cool kids table".
Now I know that MANY of you proclaim that you prefer honesty over everything...but do you really? You will be the same people who have relied on an individual during your darkest times and survived the trenches with them, for you to turn on them because someone told you something that could NOT be substantiated nor does it make any sense. You do this as a measure of gaining (or maintaining) your position within a click.
You will divide your family up into the "cool kids" and the "outsiders" for the sake of clout. You will become a turncoat on LOYAL friends and mates to prove devotion to those carrying more bones than a pack of dogs after a bbq. Did you forget that for every bone carried to you, three are carried away?
Additionally, isn't it exhausting working overtime to cover your secrets/missteps/faults?
When you FINALLY are faced with clear-cut evidence that your gossip plug has been LYING to you, you act devastated and disrespected. Why? There was a part of you that KNEW the information was false. You are just embarrassed that you were [publicly] left with egg on your face. You are left to explain to others why you road the train of hurt and destruction.
Yet, no amount of embarrassment will NOT stop you from transferring trains. You get served lies regularly, because it is what you prefer to feast upon. It quenches your disdain and jealousy. It is your speedy pass to clout. Truth reminds you of your shortcomings and the existence of the green-eyed monster on your shoulder. Truth doesn't allow you to strike another down for your entertainment and [perceived] advancement.
Now let me offer you this challenge. Question the "information" that is presented to you by the bone collectors in your life. Treat the "information" as if it were about you and false.
