What Cult Has Your Membership?

     

We are all familiar with the cult of MAGA headed by the boisterous and blissfully stupid Donald J. Trump.  But my question to you is, what cult has your membership and devotion to? Confused? Let us discuss this a bit.  Just as the members of MAGA are unaware of their membership, you may be unaware of your attachment to a cult.   There are the "Barbs" with their bullying tactics, there are also micro cults that many take little to no note of.  The cults attached to prominent social media influencers, ones that are adjoined to familial cliques, and those associated with share ideologies.  

     Many of you are in the cult of popularity and excuses.  You will double down with excuses for whomever you can gain popularity from (in your mind) through proximity.  You will offer understanding and [pseudo] reasoning to anything they say or do; because you need their good standing to remain intact so that you never have to improve or reflect.  

    A prime example is a horrendous behavior displayed by the cult that functions under the "name" "The Barbs." Meg thee Stallion gave an incredible performance on SNL that connected with women in the country.  She allowed her lyrics to be incredibly vulnerable and "real" regarding anxiety (also the name of the song).  Meg also revealed that while in NYC, her home was burglarized and she would be taking some time off to care for her mental health.  (She has lost her mother, father, and grandmother during her rise to stardom).  The Barbs took this information and began to troll [viciously] bringing up her deceased relatives and blaming the robbery on the fact that she had "gone against Nikki".  WTF?!

  Another example is the fact that there are now "Trump Republicans" that refer to "standard republicans" as rhinos and have called for their demise.  Using detrimental rhetoric in campaign ads, on social media as well as during interviews. 

    Why do you think anti-bullying campaigns have subsided? Bullying is keeping people popular and paid.  If you are unwilling to back the words and actions of a person with hundreds of thousands or millions of followers....you must be bullied into compliance or removed from their most profitable platforms.  

    So...once again, my question to you is...what cult has your membership? That of a politician? One of the top social media influencers? One of a celebrity? Or are you more prone to the cult of your favorite family member?  You know...that family member that everyone (conveniently) forgets about their checkered past? That family member that only does for self and expects that everyone does for them as well? That one that gaslights the world with your help? 

     Calm down...we will table that for now.  I KNOW that you aren't ready to address that cult.  We will circle back at a later time.
