Will Litigation End Disinformation?

     

In light of the recent judgments AGAINST (shock jock) Alex Jones, one would think that the [heightened] era of disinformation would close.  One would be wrong.  Although thus far, he has been ordered to pay over 1 BILLION dollars, he (nor his comrades) have STOPPED their utter and blatant lies.  They won't.  They will NOT risk losing the popularity that affords them the ability to grift so easily.  

     After his last judgment, Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to show her support and CONTINUED to lie about events that unfolded before all of our eyes.  Let me repeat that last part...EVENTS THAT UNFOLDED BEFORE ALL OF OUR EYES.  Therefore there are those among us that CHOOSE to enjoy being lied to and denying current events/tragedies within history.  Once you acknowledge that, you will understand that disinformation (and misinformation) is here to stay.

     There is a [certain] subset of the population that feels that they no longer have an escape from their reality via movies and television... so now they are escaping via turning reality into their fantasy.  They don't have to (logically) face the tragedies currently plaguing us as all if they welcome "alternative facts" and "fake news" gleefully.  They get to blame the scary Black and Brown people for what they fear and continue to believe that all of the heroes of the world are as pasty, pale, and privileged as they are.  

     The fantasy world that we are told to grow out of by the time puberty sets in, is the world that mortgage-paying, child-rearing, carpool-driving adults have firmly moved into.  These are people that will watch a trial simply to DENY the evidence presented against their favorite storyteller.  Their safe space is where the clock has rewound to a time when they reigned supreme and were void of accountability.  Once again, this is why disinformation is here to stay.  

     Trump has skated accountability by consistently shifting the goalpost, sprinkling disinformation, and stoking the ideologies of alabaster ancestors.  This is why his supporters love to proclaim that they love him because "he speaks his mind" and "he says what we are all thinking".  They KNOW that they are being lied to.  They lie to back their fandom.  They will simply NEVER admit that they have been lying as a measure of influencing the increase of their "cause".  

     We can litigate them until there are no more days, and they will remain in character, spread lies and grift.  Rinse and repeat.  They are no longer able to "strike it rich" by being mediocre, therefore their "claim to fame" is now lying to grift.  

     They have taken the infamous LBJ quote, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you," to a level no one thought would occur.
