America: 10 Steps Backward?

     

Recently, I have heard SEVERAL people claim that the US has been moving backward due to the new GOP.  But has it? Or...hear me out...has it merely been in a stalemate while revamping how to reinstate (publicly) what it has desired for generations?   When I hear people say that this cesspool of a country has gone backward, I hear that they were under the impression that oppression had been eliminated.  

     It simply became covert.

     The country allowed the North to take the lead.  It simply adopted unpigmented gatekeeping.  Credit scores were birthed to assist in continued blockbusting and redlining.  IQ tests became the standard for gaining entrance into the realm of higher education while remaining steeped in the tenets of white supremacy.  Private schools continued the segregation that they need in order to remain "ahead".  Voter suppression never dispersed.  Employment discrimination never became extinct.  The unseasoned just decided to bide their time before sliding their overtness back into the public arena.  

Therefore, the surgence of "in your face" racism is NOT a turning back of the clock, its simply a changing of the clock's battery.  

    It is quite the privilege to become under the impression that oppression took a hietus from this land of the pseudo free.  No one within the BIPOC community knows of this privilege.  BEFORE you attempt to argue and drop the roster of the coontastic coalition...pay attention to the following.  There are members of the melanated ministry of this nation that will pretend (for profit) that never have they ever dealt with microagressions, discrimination, etc.  Yet, watch when they are reminded that they are to [eternally] serve the proverbial table how quickly they send up the bat signal of racism hoping that we come to their rescue.

     The United States is the longest running [racist] soap opera of any era.  It merely switches out the actors as needed as a measure of keeping the same tale told.  The incomplete and [heavily] whitewashed history tossed about this country allows for the tale to be as old as time and for it to remain in syndication.  

     Moreover, this US hasn't moved 10 steps backward, it has simply put back on its squaredancing shoes and moved the party to the middle of town.  No longer are the alabaster citizenship willing to be confined behind walls, microaggressions, dog whistles and hand signs.  They want you to know that they are their ancestors.  They want to modernize their "humble beginnings".  No more...no less.
