The (Self) Derailing Trump Train

   

      Last night, Donald John Trump decided to let the nation know that he is running for president (again) in 2024.  Personally, I saw this coming the moment that the first investigations into him were made public.  In his minuscule brain, it appears that he believes that his new campaign will shield him from prosecution, indictment, and appearing before the Jan. 6 committee.  News flash... It WON'T.   

     Additionally, the money that he believed would be flowing in after he monetized the White House did NOT.  he needs his greatest gift back, but at what cost to him and those around him? the RNC already stated that should he announce that he is running, they would revoke their offer to pay his legal fees.  His prized child Ivanka has made it public that she will NOT be involved in this latest round of (faux) politics.  The GOP is eating itself at the moment while (predominately) backing Ron DeSantis for its 2024 presidential nomination.

     Trump is derailing his own train.

     This past weekend, he began a grift via the runoff election involving Herschel Walker that created copycat grifts within the ultramaga cult that he covets.  Walker's camp was FORCED to issue a statement pleading with his own party to STOP requesting donations on his behalf for him to only receive 10% or LESS.  Re-read that last sentence.  

     Trump has spewed so many lies that now he has LOST cult members and even members of his own family wish that he would cut the con.  The family can NOT operate their business any longer.  The family accountant has handed over their fraud playbook.  The GOP no longer needs or wants Trump.  Even as he was tooting his own horn or deceit, "supporters" were leaving the venue at such a high rate that doors were being blocked to keep them inside.  Major news outlets either cut away from the live announcement or chose to simply talk about the "key points" of his ramblings. 

     It is clear that ol Donny boy does NOT know when to hold em...when to fold em... when to walk away...when to run.

     Trump could have gracefully accepted defeat and (properly) utilized his cult following.  He could have released "The Art of the POTUS" as a sequel to his (mostly fictional) autobiography.  He could have taken on (credible) speaking engagements.  But he chose to lie and grift to a point that NO ONE can cover for him any longer.  He has established a reputation for throwing any and everyone that will NOT bend to his will under the proverbial bus.  He allowed people to DIE for the sake of his ego during the onset of COVID-19.  He invoked a self-coup that led to the loss of life and PTSD for many.

     No different than a child left alone with Halloween candy...Trump lacks the control to walk away and save face.
