Be Whole for the Holidays

Seasonal depression combined with one (plausibly) forcing themselves to be around family that (far too often) feel more like strangers can leave one feeling less than stellar.  Therefore it is imperative for you to continue your self-care routines and allow yourself the permission to NOT be surrounded by those that you do not want to.  DNA does NOT obligate you to be in the presence of those that you have NO contact with any other day of the year.

A PHOTO OP OR PLATE OF FOOD IS NOT WORTH YOUR PEACE. 💅

Should YOU CHOOSE to celebrate during this holiday season, choose the options that bring you joy.  Embark upon festivities with people that are beneficial to YOUR mental well-being.  Break the generational gaslighting of, "holidays are for the family."  Remind yourself that when it comes to family...EVER DAY should be for the family, NOT merely the day that revolves around collecting trinkets from one another.  DO NOT force yourself to endure uncomfortable situations and/or conversations in exchange for a free beverage and meal.

Take this season to build your own family and gift yourself harmony, balance, and peace.

Refusing an invitation will harm NO ONE, but accepting under distress WILL harm YOU.  YOU are the MOST IMPORTANT person in YOUR LIFE.  YOU are YOUR TOP PRIORITY.  Twinkling lights are festive, but not so ,such when nestled within the bosom of discomfort.  Hot cocoa can NOT warm the soul if its goodness is reduced due to stress being stirred in.

💕Give YOURSELF the best gift of all....BEING WHOLE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.💕
