Every community has its fair share of
pick-me's placing speedbumps along the road of progress. This is all done due to their desire to be accepted into the inner sanctum of those that despise them. They would rather bootlick those wanting to hide who (honestly) composes society than stand up for their rights to exist as HUMANS.
They will WILLINGLY spew falsehoods regarding their respective communities believing that will shield them from hate, violence, and disrespect. It will NOT.
There are some that take on the life of a pick-me for monetary gain. It appears that they know that they are lying and think that there is enough fighting for equity that it will manifest despite them. What they FAIL to acknowledge is that it will be heavily delayed when they are morphing themselves into the poster child of hate and problematic thinking. They have made themselves a weaponized example of "the good ones" that is catapulted toward those fervently working for change.
Yet, they gleefully indulge in the change that is achieved as if they do not shout that it is unneeded. 😏
Most speak often of the hypocrisy coming from conservatives, yet not enough comment on the hypocrisy coming from within the "house". We KNOW that NOT all skin folk are kinfolk, but we tend to side-eye them and push forward. It is NOW time to remind them that those that they placate to and want to "speak kindly to" are the same ones that will assist in them being express shipped to other ancestors. The same ones that they want a kinship with will NEVER see them as worthy or even (at the very least) HUMAN. They are seen as tools for the maintaining of supremacy and [pseudo] morality.
After Log Cabin Republicans have been excluded... after anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and rhetoric... after anti-women actions and speech... after anti-minority actions, talking points, and legislation...you would think that (at least one) pick-me would catch a clue.
They don't because they have convinced themselves that they are the exception. They are the ones that will be picked due to them embodying the stereotypes deemed positive as they talk down on their [respective] communities as a way to separate themselves from their birthright. It has NEVER worked. It has NEVER resulted in (genuine) respect. Pick-me's, you are NOT them. Have you NOT noticed that the ones that speak the TRUTH are you the right are actually drawn to? They try to hide it, but they are enamored with those that stand on their beliefs over those that coddle their lies.
Making bigots comfortable has NEVER led to change nor has it educated anyone. It has merely kept them comfortable in their disdain, and ignorance, and allowed them to contend that they are correct in their train of thought.
