What is Your Learning plan for BHM?

As we kick off Black History Month (BHM) 2023, what is your learning plan?

Let this be the year that you take some time to learn more than the regurgitated factoids regarding Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, MLK, and Malcolm X.  Make the conscious effort to learn of the excellence that is within the realm of Black history.  Are you familiar with any of the following:

    • The Red Summer
    • The MOVE movement
    • The (original) Rainbow Coalition
    • The Prossers
    • Indigo
    • The Afro-Asiatic language

    • Urbane Frances Bass
    • the Buffalo Soldiers

    • The Garveys
    • Stono Rebellion
    • The Gradual Abolition Law
If you have NOT heard of some or any of what has been listed above...take some time and educate yourself.  It is time to move past what has been deemed palatable for White people and move into the arena of ACTUAL history with depth and nuance.
