Waiting on a demise

      Over the weekend, news broke that a popular actor (Jonathan Majors) was arrested.  Before ANY details were released, there were tons of people already

condemning him and dismantling his reputation.  Why? The same reason that gossip spreads fiercely while [rarely] making sense.... too many were waiting on his demise.  This is why any "receipts" that are ever shown to people RARELY sway anyone.  People tend to see what they have been looking for in the 'evidence' that they are presented with.  

     One of the most notable examples of that was the war waged on Meg the Stallion AFTER she was SHOT by Tory Lanez.

     Even AFTER a court of law found him GUILTY, his fans (including his family) decided that there was a conspiracy to deter his career.  ALL of the evidence was subject to mental gymnastics in order for people to keep up their facade of his innocence.  Not too different from all of the commentary that was born this past weekend.  A variant of social media 'experts' emerged claiming to have inside information although, until late last night and earlier today, there were FEW details available.  

     Self-proclaimed DV advocates claimed that the claimant's [alleged] injuries (that NO pictures were released of) were evidence of his violent tendencies.  A lesser-known actor pushed a narrative that a cryptic tweet he had previously typed out was about the accused.  Others stepped into the smear campaign claiming to have previous knowledge (from his collegiate days) of said behavior.  Yet, what was missing? Victims...evidence...whispers of any impropriety.  

    THEN the tide turned and everyone went from Black men are violent to do you know the history behind white women in the US? 

     Let us also NOT forget how 'sweet' and "weak" he was deemed for a spread he did for Ebony magazine.  Yet, it took sensational headlines for him to be deemed an aggressor and for companies to retract contracts and more.  When the country discovered that there were WITNESSES and VIDEO footage of the encounter and he had done NO WRONG... many changed their tune.

     Why not simply do what most ask to be done for themselves...wait for the FULL story?

     As I stated before, too many were waiting for his kryptonite to surface.  Whether it be due to jealousy, decreased self-esteem, or good ol racism...they were simply laying in wait for any chance to discredit him and the strides that he has made.  Seem familiar? Have you been the victim of this as well? If so... why continue this practice? Entertainment? Boredom? What? This is HARMFUL.  This affects people mentally, not just merely financially.  Reputations become PERMANENTLY damaged.  Others begin to create a claim to fame by adding untruths to the narrative, furthering the unneeded strain on the victim of this nonsense.
