Dear Dr. Biden,

      The LSU Lady Tigers made HISTORY and you decided to downplay that historic moment to protect the default damsel in distress... white women.  The great white hype of women's basketball did not win and rather than simply congratulating her and her team members on a season well played and a great game, you decided to overshadow the Most Outstanding Player of the Game and her melanated team.  

    Once you remove the political jargon and break it down to the bare bones...do you see where you are perpetuating privilege?

     This was the time for the current FLOTUS to support excellence while also giving a [slight] cloak of protection for a Black woman that has been the target of hate for a season.  A few words of excitement regarding the historic moment would have gone a LONG way.  Yet, you chose to use the guise of "sportsmanship" to cover your disappointment in the loss of the team you desired.  

     The optics are not positive.

     I do realize that a representative for you has attempted to walk back your tone-deaf statements.  I must say that claiming you were trying to honor all female athletes is gaslighting for toddlers.  We, Black women, are well versed in the America that we must exist in, maybe you should acknowledge that actions like those that you displayed keep us in that alternate space.  

     How are you so in. aww of Michelle Obama AND still so willing to overshadow Black women? 

     You had a front-row seat to the degradation and overshadowing of Mrs. Obama and STILL chose to continue the US tradition of proving a participation trophy to a majority member.  Before sycophants and racists begin to sell the narrative of "this has nothing to do with race"...tell me, if Iowa would have won, would you have invited LSU? 😏When South Carolina won in 2022, did you consider inviting UCONN? 💅

     As an educator, you are fully aware that you do not give every student an "A" because a few EARNED one or because your favorite student didn't achieve it on their own.
