Your Patriotism is Racism

      

     Since Trump decided to throw his hat into the political arena, the already sketchy definition of "patriotism" has become DEFINITIVELY racist.  Before you begin to contort yourself into believing that I am reaching... consider the reactions to the DNC this year.  Good ol [self-proclaimed] patriots have been unraveling due to their "belief" that photos of the US and music created by citizens were NOT patriotic.  How did they come to this [utterly asinine] conclusion? Non-white people being the focal point.  Non-racist, unifying, inspiring music being utilized.  All gender identities are welcomed.  Inclusion and diversity are NOT patriotic to US patriots.  

     These hoodless nationalists are increasingly disgusted by the fact that the USA is FINALLY representing who has been trapped within its borders for generations.  The Eurocentric standard forced upon stolen land is subtly losing its grip on a nation that has been marketed as immigrant-friendly and made.  😏 The patriotic division of the capitalistic, chattel slavery-built portion of the Americas does enjoy being placed on the back burner that they thought the marginalized would remain placed upon.  The [eternal] gaslighting that they have attempted to place in the laps of minorities is now slapping them in the face and they are realizing that they can no longer lie their way through the covert spackling of the foundation of [systemic] racism.  😏

     Patriotism has been one of the most longstanding dog whistles in the US.  This particular dog whistle has increased in its racism over time.  This is due to the gentrifying descendants of colonizers expressly holding on to the reliance on the conviction that this country belongs to them and them singularly.  The existence of Native Americans causes them to repeat the idiocracy of the "we conquered" revisionist legacy organization history to protect their comfortability within their racism.  

     My question now is... when will the non-European-Americans correct this travesty? When will "patriotism" become inclusive of those who actually occupy this land brimming with transplants, refugees, and kidnap victims? When will the marketing campaign of this adolescent nation at long last have an ounce of truth behind it? This is the nation that has proclaimed itself to be the globe's "melting pot" while simultaneously telling melanin-kissed people that racism no longer exists.  😐

     Is everyone ready to [collectively] admit that patriotism within the United States is nothing more than colorfully packaged racism?
