Comparing to Conceal

Unless you have chosen to cosplay Patrick Starr and reside under a rock...you are firmly aware of the (common) tactic of racists...comparing POC (people of color) to conceal their own racism.  Instead of staying on topic and engaging in productive dialogue, they take the road brimming with deadlock... the highway to compare to conceal.  😏 Not quite understanding where I am coming from? Let us begin the breakdown.

I am certain that you have seen (predominately) Black people discussing our lived experiences regarding anti-Blackness, oppression, etc, and then [seemingly] "out of thin air" a European-American enters and says something along the lines of ---"[another] community doesn't complain/whine/cry about [insert topic here].  WWWWWWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYY? Deflection at its most mediocre, due to discussing the actuality of life is too uncomfortable for [far too many of] them.  This is nothing more than a method of NOT addressing what is KNOWN to be true, but those benefiting from the perpetrating of the act want to continue to do so.  Therefore, they would rather exert energy into [trying to] gaslight those on the receiving end of the torment.

Let's NOT forget that these people descend from those who worked diligently to revise history as a measure of "covering up" their atrocities and shortcomings.  These are people who STILL contend that it is "impolite to discuss slavery in the South" and continue to work to hide the truth behind the legacies that they uphold.  Do we expect them to earnestly engage in dialogue that would bring about equity? Do we truly expect them to relinquish the comfort of mediocrity propelling them towards fame, respect, and/or [generational] wealth?

Would you trade the ability to appropriate, deny, and "nepo" your way into the "American Dream" if it were written into the fabric of your existence? You wouldn't.

   HALT.  AVOID DENIAL. THINK.
