New Year...Recycled Resolution

      

     Now that we have moved into the New Year...let us discuss the perpetual recycling of the unfulfilled "heirloom resolution".  What resolution am I speaking of? The age-old faux resolution of encouraging and increasing antiracism this year.  Most won't put in the work to begin to (truly) deconstruct themselves, let alone assist in the deconstruction of others.  

     What will happen is that there will be those who will repeat what they have heard Black voices convey.  Remember...commodification is the key that unlocks the "American Dream".   There will also be those that ONLY help boost marginalized voices with high following counts or provide nothing more than entertainment.  Finally, there will be those who will spend the opening half of the year doing nothing more than using the resolution void of works as a perpetual shield from antiracism.  

     Why?

     Euromericans created the concept and hierarchy of race for their benefit...not for their labor.  The conditioning of the complexion for protection prepared them for "lip service" and being in the service of another.  Self-reflection is not within the realm of comfort for the subset that resides beneath the umbrella of whiteness.  After all is said and done...whiteness waits on change to benefit others before it decides to board the train.  This is why annual [superficial] promises surface with the ease of a babe's smile in the midday.  

     This is why there is NO use in coddling or waiting for the partnership of Euromericans.  Forward motion does NOT require nor does it need their participation.  Would it be nice? Yes.  But we must remember that they are the global MINORITY and we KNOW that they fear US.  We are who they peak at in order to know how to navigate this third rock from the sun.  Unity is NOT the overwhelming goal for those encased in whiteness.  Playing nice enough to supervise the melinated is.  

    Is this a reach? Are you deconstructing? Are those around you deconstructing? Are you sharing the content of creators you are learning from, or hiding them to quote them so you can quench your ego?
