              I have always contended that ONE of the great injustices that the US did to itself was NOT prosecuting and PUNISHING the treasonous participants in the Confederacy.  Ever since the collective of slave-dependent white men was allowed to grow old with family and friends; history has been able to be rewritten and infantilized.  This has been to the detriment of any healing, forward motion, or the ceasing of the historic groundhog day that this nation has been stuck in.  Throughout the country, there are far too many "patriots" that idolize the Confederacy and fantasize about recreating it in modern times.      With the release of the Uvalde mass shooting footage, I am once again perplexed by the pr-life mindset within the US.  A controlling minority within this country consistently screams to the masses, "protect the babies", but never lifts a finger to help them.  Between working fervently to remove healthcare, viable food options, and proper funding for children; they tend to turn a blind eye and/or ignore children being MURDERED.        Think I am stretching? Look at the despicable responses to the overturning of Roe v Wade and the forced birth rhetoric.  Now venture to the excuses afforded by Uvalde officers that prevented parents from trying to save their children.  Look at how it is being dismissed that officers sanitized their hands while gunshots rang out that day.  It's "save the children" until it's time to bootlick the blue (unless they are busy trying to overthrow the government).       ...
